PLANET NINE is a 73.9-metre expedition yacht built by Admiral Yachts and delivered in 2018. She underwent a major refit in 2024, which included extensive technical upgrades and a refreshed interior. Designed by Tim Heywood with interiors by Mlinaric, Henry & Zervudachi, PLANET NINE combines go-anywhere capability with the comfort and refinement of a high-end superyacht. Ice-classed, equipped with dynamic positioning and a commercial-grade helideck with hangar, she is built for true global cruising — from the Arctic to the tropics.
With a gross tonnage of 2,189 GT, the yacht spans five decks and accommodates up to 18 guests across eight or nine staterooms. These include two master suites on the main deck, a VIP suite on the bridge deck, and five guest cabins on the lower deck. All decks are connected by an elevator running from the beach club and wellness area to the sundeck, which features a Jacuzzi and panoramic lounge.
During the 2023–2024 refit, PLANET NINE received a full repaint of her hull and superstructure, complete servicing of her main engines and generators, new exhaust filtration systems, and upgrades to the HVAC and fire suppression systems. Audio-visual and lighting systems were modernised, and all technical systems — including cranes, stabilisers, and hull doors — were overhauled. All tenders and equipment underwent full inspections.
Powered by twin Caterpillar 3516 engines, PLANET NINE reaches a top speed of 16.5 knots. She offers an impressive range of over 6,000 nautical miles at 14 knots and up to 10,000 nautical miles at an economical 10 knots. Her advanced systems include Quantum Zero Speed stabilisers, Navis dynamic positioning, HUG exhaust filters, Schottel bow thrusters, and high-capacity watermakers.
Her fleet of tenders includes two 10.2-metre Rupert RIBs, a 6-metre crew tender, a SOLAS rescue boat, and a Zodiac Milpro. The beach club features direct sea access, a sauna, steam room, and a gym. The helideck is certified for helicopters up to 3.5 tonnes and includes refuelling facilities and a fully enclosed hangar capable of housing an Agusta A109 or similar aircraft.
PLANET NINE is a proven world cruiser and a successful charter vessel. She represents a rare opportunity for adventurous owners seeking long-range capability, onboard luxury, and complete self-sufficiency.
